Tartu University Hospital Children’s Foundation is helping families in situations where a seriously ill child needs medical treatment that is not yet offered in Estonian medical institutions due to lack of experience and who therefore need to travel to a foreign country to get treatment. The Health Insurance Fund of Estonia usually covers the medical expenses for these children, but the other costs related to travelling such as accommodation and transport costs need to be covered by the families themselves. Usually the families are not able to cover these costs which is why we are supporting them with the help of our kind donors.
During the past year, we have supported three children with compensating travel costs related to getting necessary treatment: Kevin, Egert and Anastasia.
